Bookkeepers Place
Bookkeepers Place is in Bakewell. It's an apartment for two people, up on the first floor of an old listed building right in the centre of town.
It's got one bedroom and one bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The main thing is the balcony. It faces south, so you get the sun, and it looks straight out over the street and the Bakewell Tart shop.
There's a parking space for you, but it's about 150 yards away. You can pull up outside the building to unload, which is useful.
You're right in the middle of everything. Shops, pubs, and cafes are a couple of minutes walk. The River Wye is just there for a stroll. For a longer walk or a bike ride, the Monsal Trail starts close by. It's an old railway line, so it's flat and goes through some nice valleys.
Chatsworth House is about ten minutes drive away. Haddon Hall is even closer. Both are worth a visit. If you want to explore the villages, Castleton and Eyam are within half an hour. Eyam has a famous history from the plague.
The apartment has a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. It's all on one floor inside, but there's a flight of stairs up to the front door.
