Pear Tree Cottage is in Wirksworth. It's a two bedroom cottage that sleeps four. It's got a 4 Star rating. One bathroom, though the shower is over the bath.
It's on a hill, so the views from the front over the town are good. The garden is out the back, it's enclosed and private. There's a bench out front where you can sit.
The area it's in is called the Puzzle Gardens. It's a quiet bit, a bit of a warren of paths and old houses away from the main roads. You get to it via a short, steep path from the road. The parking is on the street nearby.
Inside, it's a proper cottage. The stairs are steep, like most old cottages. There's a wood burner in the living room. It's got WiFi and a TV. Washing machine, cot, highchair, all that stuff is there. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
Wirksworth itself is a five minute walk. There's a co-op, a few pubs that do food, a bakery, and some other shops. It's a proper Peak District market town. The Heritage Centre is worth a look if you want the local history.
Carsington Water is about ten minutes by car. It's good for a walk or a bike ride. The High Peak Trail and Black Rocks are close by for walking and climbing. For a big day out, Chatsworth House is about half an hour's drive. So is the Peak District National Park visitor centre at Bakewell.
