Pear Tree Cottage is in Wirksworth. It's a two-bedroom cottage for four people. There's some on-road parking nearby, then a short, steep path up to the place. It feels tucked away.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. That's for the fixtures and fittings being good quality. It's got one bathroom. The garden is private and enclosed if you have a dog. You can bring one.
Wirksworth itself is a proper Peak District market town. You can walk to the shops, pubs, and places to eat in a few minutes. There's a butcher, a baker, and a weekly market. The town has a leisure centre with a small pool and a climbing wall.
From the cottage, you can get straight onto the old railways and trails for walking or cycling. Carsington Water is about ten minutes by car for sailing or a walk around the reservoir. Cromford and the Derwent Valley Mills are a five-minute drive. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For a day out, Chatsworth House is probably twenty-five minutes' drive. Haddon Hall is about the same. Matlock Bath, with its cable car and arcades, is ten minutes away.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. We include bedding and towels. A cot, highchair, and stairgate are there if you need them.
