Swallow View is on the third floor of a building in Matlock. It's an apartment, not a house, so if you want a garden this isn't it. The windows look south over the town and the valley towards Riber Castle. The view is the main thing.
It sleeps five, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is useful. One bathroom is en-suite. The living area is open plan. The rating is 4 Star, so it's decent.
You're right in the town. There's a pub about 200 yards away. Shops and a restaurant are a few minutes' walk. It's on a hill, so the walk back up will get your heart going.
Matlock Bath is just down the road. It's a bit old-fashioned. The cable car up to the Heights of Abraham is there. It has caves and walks. Gulliver's Kingdom is a small theme park for kids.
You're on the edge of the Peak District. Good walking starts pretty much as soon as you drive out of town. Chatsworth is about a 20-minute drive. Bakewell is maybe 15 minutes. The National Tramway Museum at Crich is about 10 minutes away.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you need it. No pets.
