Ramblers Retreat

Ramblers Retreat is a lodge on the edge of a lake near Tansley. It's detached, so it's quiet.

It's for two people. One bedroom with a king size bed, one bathroom. The layout is open plan. There's a kitchen area, a sofa and a TV. The TV is only in the living area. The main doors lead out to a private patio with furniture, looking towards the lake. The patio is what you’d call a courtyard, not a big lawn.

You can bring up to three dogs. There are two parking spaces right next to the lodge.

The rating is 4 Star. Everything is included, bedding and towels too.

From the front door you can walk straight into the countryside. The path to Lumsdale Falls is popular. It's a good spot for cyclists as well, with off-road tracks. Fishing is available on the lake.

Matlock Bath is about a ten minute drive. It's got the Heights of Abraham cable car, the illuminations and fish and chip shops. Chatsworth House is within twenty minutes. Bakewell is about the same.
