Barn View
Barn View is on our farm just outside Clay Cross. It's a stone cottage we did up a few years ago. You get it to yourselves, it's detached. The views from the back are over the fields.
It sleeps six. Two bedrooms, both are doubles, and two bathrooms. One bathroom has a spa bath. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and everything works properly. The beams are original and quite low in the kitchen, so watch your head if you're tall.
It's a working farm, so there are cattle in the fields, plus ducks, geese, chickens and our horses. You'll hear farm noises. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog.
You can walk straight from the door onto the public footpaths. For fishing, the nearest coarse fishing is about half a mile down the lane.
You're in a good spot for getting out. Chatsworth House is about twenty minutes by car. So are Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle. Bakewell, where the puddings are from, is under half an hour.
For shops and a pub, you need to drive. The nearest shop is about four miles, the nearest pub is three. It's quiet here.
What's here: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking for two cars right outside. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
