Johnsons Cottage is in Taddington. It's detached and sits right in the village. The patio looks out over the street and the fields beyond, it's a nice spot to sit.
It had a full renovation in 2022, so everything is fresh and works properly. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable, not just basic.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one with two singles. The bathroom is downstairs, with a shower over the bath. The stairs are fairly steep, just so you know.
There's a small kitchen with a dishwasher. The sitting room has a table for eating, comfortable seats, a TV, and an electric fire that looks like a wood burner. Outside, there's a separate outhouse with a washing machine and a sink.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for one car on the drive.
The village pub is a few minutes' walk. They do good food. For walking, you can just head out from the door. You're right in the middle of it.
Bakewell is about ten minutes by car for shops and cafes. Buxton is maybe twenty minutes. Chatsworth House is around twenty minutes away too. All the big Peak District walking areas like Monsal Dale or the Manifold Valley are within half an hour.
If you need more space, the cottage next door, Johnsons Croft, can be booked together with this one.
For planning days out, the Peak District National Park site is useful, as is the National Trust page for the Peak District.
