Chestnut Cottage is in Hollins, near Chesterfield. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level. The doors are wide and there are grab rails in the bathroom, which makes it straightforward if you have mobility needs. It's attached to Willow Cottage next door, owned by the same family who live nearby.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. You can bring up to two dogs.
There's a small patio area that gets the sun. It looks out over the owner's fields. You can walk from the door straight onto footpaths that lead up to the moors, or down to the Linacre Reservoirs.
The local pub is about a quarter of a mile up the lane. It's a proper walkable distance. The nearest shop is in the village, two miles away.
You're well placed for the big houses. Chatsworth is about a 15-minute drive. Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are similar. Bakewell, Matlock, and Chesterfield are all market towns within half an hour. There's a golf course and a sports centre about three miles away.
The cottage has a washing machine, parking, and bedding is included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
If you're planning visits, the Peak District National Park site has good information.
