Gadley Cottage
Gadley Cottage is our place just outside Buxton. It's a one-bedroom cottage for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is that it's all on the ground floor. No stairs. The bedroom and bathroom are down a little hallway off the living area. The bathroom's modern, with a walk-in shower.
The living space is open plan. There's a kitchen area with a dishwasher and granite worktops, then a sitting area with a wood burner. We supply the logs. The doors open from the sitting area into a conservatory. That's where you get the best view of the garden and the fields beyond.
Outside, there's a private courtyard with a hot tub. The hot tub looks out over the garden. You get that whole space to yourselves.
Location wise, you're on the edge of the Peak District. You can walk straight from the cottage onto paths. Buxton town centre is about a mile and a half away. There's a bar about a 15-minute walk away, and a pub and shops a bit further on.
For days out, Buxton has the Opera House and the Pavilion Gardens. Chatsworth House is about half an hour's drive. So is Alton Towers if that's your sort of thing. You're well placed for the Monsal Trail for cycling, and plenty of caverns like Poole's Cavern right in Buxton.
Included in the price is the electricity, the logs for the burner, the WiFi, and the bedding and towels. There's parking right outside the cottage.
