Shallcross Hall Cottages - Combs
Combs is a one bedroom cottage on the Shallcross Hall estate. It's one of four apartments in the old farmhouse and dairy.
The place sleeps four. That's a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean rather than luxury.
The main thing here is the view. It's on a hillside with fields all around. You can see it from every window. There's a big shared lawn with garden furniture and a barbecue.
There's a shared indoor swimming pool in a building next to the main house. You can book slots to use it.
Facilities wise: it's got a washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
Whaley Bridge village is about a mile down the hill. There are shops and pubs there. For walking, you're right on the edge of the Peak District. The Peak District National Park site has good maps and ideas. Buxton is a 15 minute drive for the Opera House and the Pavilion Gardens. The Goyt Valley is very close for woodland walks. It's about 30 minutes to Chatsworth House or Lyme Park.
