Wood Cottage is in Buxworth, on the edge of the Peak District. It's a semi-detached place. Sleeps eight, though there are three bedrooms, so a couple of rooms have bunk beds. Two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after and comfortable.
The garden is enclosed, so it's secure if you've got dogs or kids. You can store bikes round the back. Parking is on site, right outside.
It's a good spot for getting out. Buxworth Basin is about a ten minute walk. You can follow the canal to Whaley Bridge from there. For a proper walk, you can start from the cottage and walk over the hills to Edale, then get the train back from there to Chinley station, which is two miles from the cottage. From Chinley you can also get a train into Manchester if you fancy a city day.
By car, Chatsworth House is about half an hour. So is Buxton. Castleton and the caves are maybe twenty minutes. The Peak District National Park site has good information for walks and things to do.
In the house, there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
There's a pub half a mile away. The nearest shop is about a mile, in Whaley Bridge. A restaurant is two miles.
You can bring up to three dogs.
