Wood Cottage is in Buxworth, on the edge of the Peak District. It's semi-detached and sleeps eight, but that's spread over three bedrooms, which are a good size. Two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The stairs are steep. It's an old cottage, that's just how they are. It's got a wood burning stove, which is nice in the evenings. There's a proper enclosed garden, which is handy.
You're about half a mile from the canal basin at Buxworth, which is a nice stroll. You can walk along the towpath to Whaley Bridge too, that's about a mile. For a proper walk, you can set off from the door and get up onto the hills. Edale is accessible on foot if you're fit. The train station at Chinley is two miles away, and you can get to Manchester from there.
By car, you're well placed. Chatsworth House is about twenty minutes' drive. Buxton is fifteen minutes. Castleton, for the caves, is maybe twenty five minutes. The pub is half a mile down the road.
For facilities, it's got what you'd need: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Parking for two cars on the site. We allow up to three dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
