It's a three star rating. That means it's clean and has what you need. It's an old cottage, so the rooms are cosy. The stairs are steep, which is normal for a building from the 1700s. There's a stairgate at the top.
You get the whole garden to yourselves. It's enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids. We allow one well-behaved dog.
The main thing is the pool. It's covered and heated, so you can use it even if the weather isn't great. It's just for you when you're staying here. There are steps at the shallow end. It's open from late May to early September.
The cottage is half a mile from the village centre. It's about a ten minute walk. Chapel has a few pubs that do food, a chip shop, and some small supermarkets. You can get the basics there.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. You can walk straight out into the hills from here. For bigger days out, Peak District National Park has all the route ideas. Castleton and its caves are about ten minutes by car. Edale is fifteen minutes. Buxton is six miles away.
Further afield, you've got Lyme Park about twenty minutes away. Chatsworth House is maybe half an hour. Manchester city centre takes about forty-five minutes to drive.
