Drum And Monkey Cottage
Drum and Monkey Cottage is in Chapel en le Frith, in the Peak District. It's over two hundred years old but it's been restored inside. The original stonework is still there.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious.
The main thing is the swimming pool. It's covered and heated, so you can use it in the summer. You have it to yourselves. It's got steps at the shallow end.
You're about half a mile walk from the village centre. There are a few pubs and shops there. It's set next to our house, in a woodland spot, so it feels rural.
You're right in the Peak District. For walking, Edale and the Kinder Scout plateau are very close. Castleton and its caves are a short drive. Buxton is about six miles away.
For a bigger day out, you can drive to Chatsworth House or Lyme Park within half an hour. Manchester city centre is also about half an hour away by car if you fancy that.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, a cot and stairgate if needed, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. You can bring one dog.
