This is Shallcross Hall Cottage. It's one of the cottages on the wider Shallcross Hall site, near Whaley Bridge. You're in the old farmhouse part of the building, the one called Goyt.
It sleeps up to eight people in three bedrooms, with two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxury. The main living space is open plan.
The best thing is the view. You get a really good outlook over the fields from here. There's a shared lawn area with garden furniture and a BBQ, which is nice if the weather's good.
You also get access to the shared indoor swimming pool on the site. It's next to the main building.
Inside, you've got the basics you'd expect: a TV, WiFi, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed. Parking is right outside.
For a pint or a meal, there's a local pub within walking distance. It's a proper village pub.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. Buxton is about ten minutes away by car. For walks, the Goyt Valley is right on your doorstep and there's access to the Peak District footpaths all around. Kinder Scout and the reservoirs like Ladybower are within a 30 minute drive. If you want a stately home, Lyme Park is about twenty minutes away.
