Coachmans Cottage is in Fernilee, which is a hamlet near Whaley Bridge in the Peak District. It's detached and sits next to a stream, so you can hear the water running. The views from the garden over the fields are very good.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's been finished to a high standard and is well equipped. The owners live nearby if you ever need anything.
The layout is over three floors, which is a bit unusual. The living area is on the middle floor with a wood burner. The bedroom is up another flight of stairs. There's a decked area with seating and a hot tub under a canopy. The steps up to the deck are proper stone steps, and there are a few of them, so they're a feature.
You're up a private drive, so it feels secluded. We've seen deer in the field from the deck early in the morning.
A pub is about half a mile away. The nearest shop and restaurants are over in Whaley Bridge, about two and a half miles. It's a five minute drive. Buxton is about ten minutes away in the other direction. They've got the opera house and the pavilion gardens there.
For a good day out, Bakewell is roughly half an hour's drive. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are near there. Castleton and Edale are also about thirty minutes away if you're after walks.
Facilities: it has a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Towels and bedding are included. There's parking and an electric vehicle charger. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
