Woodlands Barn
Woodlands Barn is a bungalow just outside Chinley. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable.
The drive up is private and quite long. You can park two cars. There's a patio out the front with a table and chairs, and a chiminea. The view from there is over the village and the hills. You can see it from all the rooms.
Inside, you come straight into the kitchen. It's got everything you'd need, plus a utility area with a washing machine. There's a cupboard for dog things like bowls and towels. The living room has a Smart TV and an electric stove.
Both bedrooms have king-size beds. One can be made into twins if you ask beforehand. One bedroom has an en-suite shower, and there's a second family shower room.
Chinley village is walkable. There are two pubs, an Indian restaurant, a chippy, a couple of cafes, and a convenience store. The train station is there too, with links to Manchester, Sheffield, and into the Peak District.
For walking, you can go straight from the door up onto Cracken Edge. From there you can get to Kinder Scout and South Head. There's a secure bike store if you bring bicycles.
Buxton is about a fifteen minute drive. It's a spa town with shops, the Opera House, and Poole's Cavern. Castleton, with its caves, is also close. For a day out, Chatsworth House and Lyme Park are both within half an hour.
Practical things: bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. We allow up to two dogs. There's an EV charger on the drive. WiFi is included.
