Oxlow End Cottage is near Peak Forest, right in the middle of the Peak District. It's attached to our house, but it's all yours when you're here. It's an old farmhouse we've done up. The views from the front are good, over fields and trees.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. There are a lot of old beams and stone walls inside, which look nice but you'll need to mind your head in a couple of places. The stairs are fairly typical for a cottage, so a bit narrow.
You can walk or take a mountain bike straight from the door. The footpaths are good. There's a pub about three quarters of a mile away that lets dogs in. The nearest shop is in Hope, about four miles.
You're well placed here for driving out. Castleton is ten minutes away. Bakewell is about twenty minutes. The cable cars at Alton Towers are roughly half an hour. Chatsworth House is also within a half hour drive.
The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. We allow two. There's parking for one car. It has a woodburning stove, WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are provided.
