Cotton Cottage

Cotton Cottage is in Hope. It's on the side of a hill, attached to a stone barn on our farm. We don't farm it now, it's quiet. The views from the dining table are good, you look out over the valley and the moor.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. It's an old cottage though, from the 1600s, so the walls are thick and the floors aren't always level. That's just how it is.

You've got a fenced area about a hundred yards long if you bring dogs. They can have a run there. The garden is yours to use.

It's very straight onto the walking. You're next to National Trust land and the footpaths into the Edale Valley start at the gate. For a pint, there's a pub half a mile down the lane. Hope village is close, that's where you'll find the shops, a few more pubs, and some takeaways.

Castleton is just along the road. That's where the Blue John caverns are, and Mam Tor. You can see Peveril Castle from a distance. There's golf and cycle hire within five miles. The Peak District National Park site has maps and ideas if you're planning walks.

Further out, you've got Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Bakewell and Buxton are about twelve miles, maybe twenty minutes in the car.

Inside, there's a wood burner for cooler nights. We've put in a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's wifi. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.

We allow two well-behaved dogs. There's bike storage if you bring them.
