Cotton Cottage is in Hope village, up on a hillside. It's attached to one of our old stone barns. We've got sheep in the fields but it's not a working farm, so it's quiet.
The cottage sleeps five over three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's been updated inside, so it's comfortable but not fancy. It has a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the valley from the dining table. The stairs are fairly typical for an old place, so watch your step.
You can walk straight out of the door onto National Trust land and into the Edale Valley. There's a fenced area about a hundred yards long if you need to let the dogs out. We allow up to two. The garden is yours.
There's a pub about half a mile down the lane for a pint. Hope village has a few shops, cafes, and takeaways if you need them. It's about a ten minute walk.
Things nearby: you're about ten minutes drive from Castleton, so that's the Blue John Caverns, Mam Tor, and Peveril Castle. You can get to Chatsworth, Bakewell, or Buxton in under half an hour by car. There's cycle hire in the Derwent Valley if that's your thing.
What's here: parking right outside, a wood burning stove, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's some space to store bikes.
