Easter Cottage

Easter Cottage is in Bamford. It's an end-terrace house built in the 1750s, and it used to be a weaver's cottage. It's set back from the road a bit. Sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own en-suite shower room, which is useful.

It got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-kept. It was all redecorated a couple of years ago. The living room has a wood burner and some beams. The stairs are steep. They're normal for a cottage this age, but you should know about them.

There's a small enclosed patio garden out the back, through the kitchen. You get the sun in the afternoon there. It's private.

The local shop and the pub are about a hundred yards away. The pub serves food. Ladybower Reservoir is a five-minute drive away, or you can walk it in half an hour if you don't mind the hill. For a bigger swim, Hathersage has an outdoor pool that's open in summer. It's about a ten-minute drive.

Castleton and Hope Valley are close by for exploring. Edale, where the Pennine Way starts, is about twenty minutes by car. You can hire bikes or get information at the Upper Derwent Visitor Centre, near Derwent Dam.

It has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
