Vera's Cottage is in Edale. It's a mid-terraced house, so you've got neighbours either side. The view from the front is straight out to the hills. That's the main thing.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One room has a kingsize bed, the other has adult-sized bunk beds. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. It's not huge, but it's got what you need.
There are two wood burners, one in the living room and another in the kitchen. The kitchen has a table and a back door to the garden. The garden has a patio and a lawn, it's a good size.
You get one parking space opposite the cottage. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a highchair if you need it. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
You're right in the middle of it for walking. The path up to the Great Ridge starts from the village. Mam Tor, Lose Hill, that whole ridge walk is right there. The village has a shop and a couple of pubs. They're basic but fine.
Castleton is about ten minutes by car. You've got the caverns there. Buxton is maybe twenty-five minutes. It's got the Pavilion Gardens, shops, and the opera house. The Peak District National Park site is useful for planning walks. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here too.
