Vera's Cottage is in Edale, up in the Peak District. It's a mid-terraced stone cottage on the lane. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed and the other has adult-sized bunk beds. There's one family bathroom.
The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and clean. It's one of the nicer ones we've done. The stairs are typical for a cottage, so they're a bit steeper than in a modern house.
It’s got two wood burning stoves, one in the living room and another in the kitchen. The kitchen has everything you'd need and a table. There’s a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
Outside, there's a parking space right opposite the cottage. Out the back is a decent sized garden with a patio and some lawn. You can bring one dog.
Edale is right in the middle of it all for walking. You can step out the door and be on the path up to The Great Ridge, Mam Tor, all of that. The views are what you come for.
Castleton is about ten minutes by car. It’s got the show caverns and a few pubs. Buxton is maybe twenty-five minutes away. It's a proper town with shops, the Pavilion Gardens, and the opera house if you fancy a show.
