Riverside Dairy is a holiday cottage on our working farm in Thornhill. We're in the Peak District, between Bamford and Hope.
It's a modern, detached building. It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom and bathroom is downstairs, the other two bedrooms and the main bathroom are upstairs. The beds are super king size, but we can make them into twins if you ask beforehand.
The living space is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, sofas. There's a big window with a view out over the fields towards Bamford Edge and Win Hill. Underfloor heating downstairs. There's a washing machine.
Outside, there's a garden with a patio. It's enclosed. There's a hot tub in a private spot, looking out at the view. The River Derwent runs along the edge of the farm land, so you can go for a swim if you're brave. Parking is right outside.
We're a working farm, so you'll see sheep, chickens, and cows around. You might see me or my family going about our day. We're on site and will meet you when you arrive. We provide towels, basic toiletries, and a welcome pack. If you're staying in December, we put a Christmas tree up for you.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. We take care of it.
You've got walks right from the door. There's a National Cycle Route nearby. Two pubs are within a mile. The nearest, The Anglers Rest, is about a 15-minute walk and has an electric car charging point in its car park.
Within a half-hour drive, you've got Castleton for the caverns, Bakewell, and Buxton. For walkers, the Peak District National Park website is useful. For heritage sites, English Heritage has information on places like Peveril Castle.
Facilities included are: a dishwasher, TV, WiFi, barbecue, cot and highchair. Bedding is provided. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
