Riverside Dairy

Riverside Dairy is a cottage on our farm in Thornhill, near Bamford. It’s detached. You’ll see the farm buildings and fields from the windows. We’re in the Peak District, so it’s dark at night. Good for stargazing.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom and en-suite is downstairs. The other two are upstairs with zip-and-link beds, so they can be twins or doubles. Just let us know. All bedding and towels are included. There’s a family bathroom upstairs with a bath and a walk-in shower.

The main living area is open plan. Kitchen with a range cooker, a dining table, and a sitting area. There’s underfloor heating. A utility room with a washing machine is off to the side. The big window looks out towards Bamford Edge and Win Hill.

Outside, there’s a garden and parking. The hot tub is in a private spot with those same views. The river Derwent runs through the land. There’s a lake, which some guests use for a cold dip.

We live on site. We’ll say hello when you arrive and are around if you need anything. It’s a working farm, so you’ll see cattle, sheep, and chickens. You can walk straight out from the cottage onto the footpaths. The National Cycle Network is close by.

There are two pubs within a mile. The Anglers Rest in Bamford is about a five minute drive and has an electric car charging point. Hope village is ten minutes away and has another car park with chargers.

Castleton, with its caves, is about a 15 minute drive. Bakewell and Buxton are within half an hour. For planning walks, the Peak District National Park site is useful. We’re happy to suggest routes.

Facilities: dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi, cot, highchair. On-site parking. Pets are welcome, up to two. We provide a welcome pack. For stays in December, we put a Christmas tree up for you.
