Swallow's Nest

Swallow's Nest is one of those apartments over a shop, but it's over a quiet doctor's surgery on Bradwell's main street. It's on the first and second floor. They've just done it up. You get some good views out over the fields and the edge from the front.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. One bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well set up.

Inside, it's open plan upstairs. There are French doors that open onto a little balcony. There's a spiral staircase from there that goes down to your own walled garden. It's a proper feature, that staircase. It's fine for most people, but if you've got trouble with stairs, maybe have a think.

The village shop is about a minute's walk away. It's well stocked. There are a couple of pubs in the village too, both do food.

You're right in the Peak District here. Castleton is ten minutes in the car. That's where the caverns are, like the Blue John ones. The Peak District National Park site has walking routes if you're planning. Edale, where the Pennine Way starts, is a short drive. Hathersage is about twenty minutes, good for climbers.

For facilities: you've got the garden, a BBQ, parking out front, WiFi, a cot and highchair, a dishwasher, and all your bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.

If you're looking into the history of the area, Eyam Museum covers the plague village story. It's about a twenty-five minute drive.
