Swallow's Nest is on the first floor of a Victorian building in Bradwell. It's an apartment, renovated recently. You've got the whole floor to yourselves.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The main living area is open plan and quite spacious. French doors open onto a balcony, with a spiral staircase leading down to a small, walled garden. It's a nice spot to sit.
It's worth knowing the apartment is above a quiet doctor's surgery. It's not a problem, you hardly notice it, but it's there. The stairs up to the front door are the original building stairs, so they turn a corner and are fairly typical for the age of the place.
Bradwell is a good village. There's a well-stocked shop and a couple of pubs that do food, all a short walk away. You're right in the Hope Valley, so the views from the front are across the fields towards Bradwell Edge.
Castleton is about ten minutes by car. That's where the Peak Cavern and the Blue John mines are, plus Peveril Castle. Hope village is even closer. Edale, where the Pennine Way starts, is a fifteen-minute drive. For walkers and climbers, the edges around Stanage and Burbage are within half an hour.
In terms of what's here: there's a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking for one car on site, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's no barbecue, sorry. No pets either.
For planning days out, the Peak District National Park site is very useful. The National Trust also looks after some key places nearby.
