The Barn
The Barn is on a quiet lane on the edge of Marple Bridge. It's an old stone barn, converted a few years ago. It's set back, so you get good views out over the fields.
You can fit four people in. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, and there's a downstairs cloakroom too. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, with underfloor heating and a wood burner in the main room.
The kitchen and living area are all one open space. The stairs are a bit steep, but there's a handrail. Outside, there's a patio area and off-road parking for a couple of cars. We have secure storage for bikes.
Marple Bridge village is about five minutes down the road by car. There are a few decent pubs there that do food. For a bigger shop, Marple is a bit further on. The train station in Marple gets you into Manchester city centre in about half an hour.
For walks, you're spoilt. The Middlewood Way is right there for a flat, traffic-free path. The Torrs in New Mills is about a fifteen minute drive and well worth a visit. Etherow Country Park is close by. You're on the edge of the Peak District, so places like Buxton or Castleton are within an hour's drive.
The place has a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's Wi-Fi and a TV. No pets, sorry.
