Squirrel Cottage Glossop

Squirrel Cottage is in Glossop, just outside the town centre. It's a two-bedroom end-terrace house. It sleeps four. We got it renovated last year, so everything's new and works properly.

Downstairs is all open plan. There's a kitchen island you can eat at, a sofa, and a TV. The big doors at the back fold right open to the garden if the weather's good. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath. There's also a little raised area with beanbags, which kids seem to like. The second bedroom is another king, but we can split it into two singles if you need. That one has a separate shower room.

The garden has a lawn, a patio, and furniture. You can see squirrels in the trees from there, hence the name. Parking is on the driveway.

You can walk into Glossop in five minutes. There are a few pubs, cafes, and the usual supermarkets. Manor Park is just around the corner if you need a green space. For walking, the Longendale Trail starts nearby. It's a flat, traffic-free path good for bikes or a stroller.

You're about half an hour's drive from the better-known Peak District spots. Edale and Castleton are that way, or you can go to Buxton. The Peak District National Park site has maps and ideas. For closer heritage, National Trust Peak District lists their places, like Lyme Park.

It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable. Facilities are all there: wifi, washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels. We allow up to two dogs. There's a BBQ outside you can use.
