White Heather Barn
White Heather Barn is in Swanwick, Derbyshire. It's one of a few barn conversions on a little lane, so you get a bit of a view over the fields from the front. It's quiet.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, both upstairs. The big thing is they each have their own shower room, so no one has to queue. That's handy.
Downstairs is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, and the living area. There's a wood burner. It heats the place up nicely. The sofa is big enough for everyone.
Out the back door there's a private courtyard. It's got a table and chairs, and a hot tub. It's screened off so it's just for you.
Things to know: it's got a 4 Star rating, which basically means it's well equipped and comfortable. The wifi is fine. There's parking right outside. We can take one dog. There's an electric car charger. Bikes can be stored round the back.
The location is good if you want to explore, or if you just want to walk from the door. You can head straight out into the lanes. Carsington Water is about 20 minutes away for sailing or walking. The Midland Railway Centre is in the village, you can walk there.
For a day out, Chatsworth House is probably half an hour's drive. Alton Towers is about the same. Matlock Bath and the Peak District proper are all within easy reach.
