Elm Cottage is in Waterhouses, right on the edge of the Peak District. It's a converted barn, one of three around a courtyard, so you'll see other people coming and going sometimes. It's not remote.
It sleeps ten, but that's across three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is useful with a lot of people. The rating is 3 Star. It's clean and has everything you need, but it's not a posh hotel.
There's a pub about a mile away. They serve food. The nearest shop is about the same distance.
The main thing is the location. You're straight into the Manifold Valley. There's a brilliant cycle trail there, you can hire bikes. For walking, you're right on the doorstep of the Peak District. Dovedale is a short drive, it's the famous stepping stones walk.
Alton Towers is six miles away if you've got theme park fans. For a quieter day, Bakewell is a nice market town, about a 25 minute drive. Chatsworth House is about the same distance, maybe half an hour. It's a huge estate, you could spend all day there.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and your own garden area that's enclosed. We have a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding is included. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is right there.
