Broadmeadows Farm
Broadmeadows Farm is where we are. It's in Butterton, Staffordshire. It's a proper, old farmhouse, dating to 1810, set up on the edge of the Manifold Valley. The views are across the valley, really wide open.
It sleeps twelve people. Five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The decor is traditional.
You're on a farm drive, so it's quiet. It's part of our working farm, so there are cows and calves in the fields around. You'll see them. The garden is yours, with a patio and a BBQ.
Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room for cooler evenings. There's a games room as well. The kitchen has a dishwasher and there's a washing machine. Bedding is included, and we can provide a cot and highchair.
The Manifold Valley is right there for walking straight from the door. The Manifold Track, the old railway line, is great for cycling and is mostly traffic-free. You can hire bikes locally.
Butterton village is about a mile away. There's a butchers there and a pub. The nearest general shop is about seven miles, in Longnor.
For days out, you're quite central. Ashbourne, Buxton, and Bakewell are all within about twenty-five minutes. Dovedale and Carsington Water are close by for walking and water sports. Alton Towers is also about twenty-five minutes drive if that's your thing.
