Cedar Cottage is just outside Waterhouses, on the edge of the Peak District. It's one of a few converted barns around a shared courtyard. You get your own bit of garden.
It sleeps six, but it's only two bedrooms and one bathroom. So it's a bit of a squeeze if you're all adults, but it works for families. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, no frills.
The stairs up to the bedrooms are a proper old barn ladder-stair. Steep and narrow. You need to be careful.
There's a shop and a pub about a mile away. The pub does food. Alton Towers is about six miles down the road if that's your thing.
You're right by the Manifold Valley. The track along the old railway is one of the best cycle routes around here. You can hire bikes in Waterhouses. For walks, Dovedale is close by, with its stepping stones.
Ashbourne, Leek, and Bakewell are all market towns within about half an hour. Chatsworth House is maybe 40 minutes away. The Potteries museums in Stoke are about the same.
What's here: Washing machine, TV, WiFi. Parking right outside. Bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs.
