Throwley Moor Farmhouse
Throwley Moor Farmhouse is up near Calton, between Ilam and Ashbourne. It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and hear animals. The views are good, just fields and hills.
It sleeps thirteen. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well equipped and comfortable. It's not a show home, it's a proper farmhouse for a big group.
Inside, there are two living rooms, both have open fires. One has a table tennis table. The kitchen is big, with a table that fits everyone. There's a pantry with extra fridge space. The utility room has a toilet and a shower, plus the washing machine.
The bedrooms are all upstairs. One has four single beds. One has a double and a single. Another double has an en-suite toilet. The last one has a double and two singles. There's a family bathroom with a bath, and another with a shower cubicle.
Outside, there's a private garden. The lawn is raised up a few steps. There's a patio with picnic benches and a barbecue. Parking for five cars.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. Dovedale is close, maybe ten minutes by car. You can get to the Manifold Trail or Tissington Trail for walks and cycling easily. Alton Towers is about fifteen minutes south if you've got kids who want that.
The nearest pub is about four miles away in Ilam. Ashbourne is your main town for bigger shops.
Facilities: it's got all the basics – wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, highchair, cot. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs. The place can be decorated for Christmas if you book then.
