Swallows Return is in Biggin, in the Peak District. It's a cottage on a working farm. You're right by the River Dove.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one of them is an en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating. We took one dog, last I checked.
The living area is upstairs. It's open plan and gets the light. The views from the windows look down the valley towards Hartington. You've got a small patio and a bit of garden that leads into the meadows.
Being on the farm means you can walk straight out onto the land. There's a farm trail. The kids can help feed the chickens. In spring, there are lambs. You'll see buzzards and hares about.
Hartington village is close. It's got good pubs and a shop that does cream teas. The Tissington Trail for cycling is about four miles away. Carsington Water is nearby if you want to sail or windsurf.
You're well placed for a day out. Chatsworth House is about a 25 minute drive. So is Haddon Hall. Alton Towers is about half an hour if that's your thing. Buxton, with the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens, is roughly 20 minutes.
For facilities, you've got the basics: WiFi, parking, a dishwasher, bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. There's a BBQ out the back.
Useful links for planning: Peak District National Park, National Trust Peak District, and for Haddon Hall, their own site is best.
