Wolfscote Cottage
Wolfscote Cottage is in Biggin, in the middle of the White Peak. It's part of a working farm called Wolfscote Grange. The views down the valley towards Hartington are very good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms downstairs, both doubles. The living area is upstairs. It's open plan, with oak floors and beams. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
You've got a patio and a bit of garden that leads into the farm's meadows and a wildlife pond. The kids can help feed the chickens. In spring, there are usually lambs. You're welcome to walk around the farm trail. We see hares, buzzards, all sorts.
It's a proper rural spot. The bottom of the lane meets the River Dove and the footpath along it. Hartington village is about a mile and a half away. It has a couple of decent pubs and a shop that does good cream teas.
For a day out, Carsington Water is about 20 minutes by car if you like sailing. The Tissington Trail for cycling is ten minutes away. You can hire bikes at Ashbourne or Parsley Hay. Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are about half an hour's drive. Alton Towers is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Good walking from the door, or a short drive to more.
Facilities: it has WiFi, a TV, parking. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's a BBQ. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
