The Old Mill Annexe is in a place called The Raikes, just outside Hartington. It's attached to our house, which is the old mill. We're right on the river.
It's a one bedroom place, so it's just for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. The bedroom is upstairs. The stairs are a standard cottage staircase, so they're a bit steeper than in a modern house.
You have your own patio and you're welcome to use the garden. There's an old mill wheel in there and you can fish if you have a licence. The river's right there.
Hartington village is about a ten minute walk up the road. There are a couple of pubs that do food, a village shop, and a cheese shop. They're all good.
You're right in the Peak District. The walking and cycling from the door is excellent. For a big day out, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are about half an hour's drive. Bakewell is the same, for the market and a pudding. Alton Towers is also within half an hour if that's your thing.
Facilities: There's parking on the drive, an electric vehicle charger, bike storage, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
