Meadow Cottage is one of three cottages on the lane at Broomshaw Farm, near Winkhill. It's at the end, so you've got fields on two sides. It's quiet. You can hear the sheep.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms upstairs: a double, a single, and one room with a double and a single bed together. One bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. The Wi-Fi works but it's the countryside, so don't expect to stream films on five devices at once.
Downstairs is all one space. Kitchen at one end, table in the middle, sofas and the TV at the other end. There's a wood burner effect fire, but it's electric. It gives off a bit of heat and looks nice. The views out of every window are just fields. No other houses in sight.
You can walk straight out onto footpaths. The Peak District National Park authority site has good maps. Leek is about ten minutes in the car for supermarkets. Ashbourne is maybe twenty minutes, that's a nice market town.
Alton Towers is very close, only about four miles. You'll see the rides from some spots on the lane. It gets busy on the roads in summer.
Parking is right outside the cottage. You can bring two dogs. There's a washing machine, and all the bedding and towels are here. The owner lives on site and is usually about if you need anything.
