The Barn
The Barn is in Mixon, near the River Hamps. It’s a barn conversion on a farm road, so you’re in the middle of fields. Very quiet. The views are good.
It sleeps up to ten, but it's only got three bedrooms, so it's a flexible layout. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is useful for a group. It's a 4 Star place, so it's done up nicely.
The stairs are worth mentioning. They’re a proper spiral staircase, quite steep and open. Just take your time on them.
You can walk straight out from the door onto the footpaths. Good for the dog, if you had one, but we don't take pets here. The local pub is about two miles away. The nearest shop is four miles, so you’ll want to bring supplies.
Alton Towers is ten minutes by car. Foxfield Steam Railway and Froghall Wharf are close by too. For a day out, Chatsworth House is well worth the trip. Peak District National Park has all the walking information you'd need.
For facilities, it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ outside and parking right there.
