Garden Cottage is in Onecote. It's attached to our house, but you've got your own front door and it's all self-contained. The name is because it looks out over our garden and the fields.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. We've kept the old features where we could. The ceilings are low in a couple of places, so mind your head.
The pub is about a hundred yards up the road. They do food and are family friendly. The shop is four miles away in Longnor, which also has a cafe.
You can walk straight from the door. The River Hamps valley is right there, and you can get onto the Manifold Valley paths. For cycling, the Manifold Trail hire is about four miles away in Waterhouses.
Alton Towers is within half an hour's drive. So is the Churnet Valley Railway. Further out, around 30 minutes or so, you've got places like the Trentham Estate, the Monkey Forest near Stoke, or Chatsworth House.
In the cottage there's a wood burner, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring two dogs.
