Shires Rest

This is Shires Rest. It's one of a few cottages on Polean Farm, just outside Pelynt village. You turn off the Looe to Polperro road and come down a green lane to get here. It feels properly in the countryside.

The cottage sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable. It was a hay barn originally, so there are beams.

You can see fields from the windows. The garden is yours to use, it's enclosed. There's parking right there.

It's a farm, so there are animals. On weekdays you can go and help feed the lambs and goats if you want. It's a livery yard too, so there are horses about.

About a mile down the lane is the village. It's got a shop and a pub that does food.

For the beach, it's about three miles to Polperro or Talland Bay. Looe is four miles. That's where you'll find more shops, boat trips, that sort of thing.National Trust Cornwall has good info on the coast. The South West Coast Path is right there too.

There's an indoor pool you can use, a few minutes' drive away. It's shared with another holiday site. Sometimes there's a small charge for a swim session. It gets very busy in August and is often closed then. They have evening entertainment there most of the year, but not from November to March.

Inside, there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. We include the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
