Smithy

Smithy is our cottage. It's one of several converted barns on the grounds here near Looe. It's an old stone building, semi-detached, and sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one bathroom.

It has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. The layout is open plan downstairs. There's a patio with a table and chairs, and you have your own bit of garden. The parking is on site and there's space for one car allocated to you.

The proper name for the beach is Millendreath Beach. It's a few minutes' walk down the lane, maybe 300 yards. There's a cafe there on the sand that does food and drink. The South West Coastal Path runs right past the property, so you can walk to Looe one way or towards Seaton the other. Looe is about a mile and a half along the coast path. It's a proper working fishing town with a harbour and fish market. The beach there is sandy when the tide's out.

Facilities wise, it's got wifi, a TV, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs. There's a shared kids play area on the grounds.

If you want to go out for the day, Polperro is a ten minute drive east. It's a small old fishing village. The Monkey Sanctuary is about five minutes away by car. For a bigger trip, the Eden Project is roughly half an hour's drive, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 25 minutes.
