By The Beach

By The Beach is in Downderry, right by the beach. It's a ground floor place, so there are no stairs at all. It's all on one level. There's wheelchair access and a wet room. Everything is flat.

It sleeps eight. That's two bedrooms and one bathroom. You can switch the beds between double or twin if you ask in advance. There's also a sofa bed in the living area. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and modern, not old-fashioned.

The living space is open plan. Kitchen, dining, and sitting area all together. There's a wood burner for colder nights. Outside there's a patio with a BBQ. The garden is enclosed. There's a hose for washing dogs or sand off feet. You can store bikes there.

You can bring three dogs. There's an electric vehicle charger on site.

The beach is dog-friendly and just a short walk away. It's sandy and safe for swimming, with lifeguards in season. You'll see surfers when the waves are right. There are body boards in the house. You can go rock pooling.

In the village there's a pub, a few places to eat, a coffee shop, and a small shop. All within walking distance.

The South West Coast Path runs right past. You can walk east towards Seaton and Looe, or west towards Portwrinkle. Looe is about a twenty minute drive. It's a proper fishing town with a harbour. Polperro is a bit further, maybe half an hour. It's very pretty with narrow lanes.

For a change, you can drive to the Rame Peninsula. Places like Kingsand and Cawsand are about forty minutes away. You can get a ferry from there over to Plymouth. The Eden Project is about a thirty-five minute drive inland.
