Coastguard Cottage is in Downderry in South East Cornwall. It's right above the beach, maybe fifty or so yards from the sand. The view from the front is across the bay, from Rame Head over to Looe Island.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The main bedroom looks straight out to sea. The second has twin beds and looks over the back garden. The third is a single room with an east view, so you get the sunrise.
Downstairs, there's a sitting room with a wood burner and a TV. The kitchen is next to it. The front garden is a suntrap, good for sitting out. The back garden is enclosed, with some trees. There's parking for your car.
The village has a pub about 200 yards away. They do food and sometimes have music. There's also a place that's a restaurant, shop, and cafe all in one. A community shop and cafe is about a ten minute walk. Supermarkets will deliver here.
For things to do, you're right on the South West Coast Path. The beach here is shingle with rock pools. For surfing, you'd drive a little way. Looe is about eight miles west for fishing trips. Plymouth is 12 miles east for the history and the Barbican.
Within half an hour you can get to The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Mount Edgcumbe. Bodmin Moor is about a 40 minute drive for different walks.
In terms of what's there: WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner, and the parking. Bedding is an extra charge. No pets allowed.
