Coastguard Cottage

Coastguard Cottage is in Downderry, Cornwall. It's a former coastguard's house right above the beach. You can see right across the bay from Rame Head to Looe Island.

It sleeps five people. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. One double bedroom looks straight out at the sea, and a single bedroom gets the morning sun. The twin room looks over the back garden.

Downstairs, there's a sitting room with a wood burner and a big bay window facing the sea. It's attached to the kitchen and dining area. The view changes all the time, from very calm to proper stormy. It's good to watch.

The front garden is just above the beach, about a fifty-five yard walk down. You can sit out there. The back garden is enclosed, with some trees. There's parking at the cottage.

In the village, there's a pub about two hundred yards away. They do food and sometimes have music. There's also a place that's a shop, café and restaurant all in one. Big supermarkets will deliver here.

The South West Coast Path goes right through Downderry. Looe is about eight miles west. For a day out, National Trust Cornwall has loads of places nearby. The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are within a half hour drive. Bodmin Moor is about the same distance for walking.

Facilities: there's a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, and all the electricity is included. The cottage is decorated for Christmas if you book over that period. No pets, sorry.
