Port View Cottage
Port View Cottage is in Shaldon. It's on the estuary side of the village. The description isn't wrong about the views, they really are the main thing. You look straight out over the water.
It's a small place, just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but it's not a fancy hotel. Everything you need is there.
You can get down to the foreshore from the garden. At low tide, it's all mud and the birds are out there. At high tide on a warm day, you can swim right there. The garden is a little sunny courtyard. You can eat outside.
You're a few minutes' walk from the village green and the shops. The pub's there too. To get to the sandy beach, you walk along the sea wall. The little ferry to Teignmouth runs from there, every fifteen minutes in the summer.
In Shaldon itself, there's a small zoo and you can walk through the cliff tunnel to Ness Cove. For a bigger day out, Teignmouth is across the river. Exeter is about half an hour's drive inland. Dartmoor is maybe forty minutes.
For facilities, it's got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's parking.
