Rose Cottage is in Cromford, on the edge of the Peak District. It's a two-up two-down terraced cottage right on the street. You get a small walled garden out the back.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed and one with two singles. The bathroom is downstairs, just a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are steep and narrow, like most of these old cottages.
You park on the street. There's usually a space by the post office or in the market square, which is a twenty-second walk. The cottage is right in the middle of the village. There's a shop, a few pubs that do food, and a couple of chip shops all within a minute or two.
For walks, you can step out the door and be on the canal path or up into the woods. The High Peak and Monsal trails are close by for cycling. Matlock Bath is about five minutes in the car. It's got Gulliver's Kingdom for kids and the cable cars up to the Heights of Abraham.
Chatsworth House is a twenty-minute drive. Bakewell is about fifteen minutes, Buxton maybe twenty-five. You can be in the middle of the moors in half an hour.
In the house you've got a wood burner, a washing machine, WiFi, and a Smart TV. All the bedding and towels are there. We allow up to three well-behaved dogs.
