Rampsbeck Lodge

Rampsbeck Lodge is a ground floor apartment in Watermillock, on the shore of Ullswater. It's attached to the main house where we sometimes stay, but you've got your own entrance and a private patio area looking over the garden to the lake. The garden is about two acres and you're welcome to use it. It slopes down to the water.

It sleeps two in one bedroom. There's one bathroom. The bath is sunken into the floor, which is a bit different. You can also use the separate shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The living space is open plan. Kitchen at one end, sofa and dining table at the other. The big doors look straight out over the garden to the lake and the fells. You get that view from inside.

Watermillock is quiet. There's a pub you can walk to. For a shop, you'd drive to Pooley Bridge, which is a couple of miles away. You can get lake cruises from there too. Aira Force waterfall is close by for a walk. Glenridding, at the other end of Ullswater, is about a ten minute drive and is good for starting walks up Helvellyn.

Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, TV, parking. Electricity is part of the price. You can bring up to two dogs. There's local horse riding if you arrange it separately.
