Pippa's Cottage

Pippa's Cottage is near Greystoke, in Cumbria. It's a one-bedroom place, sleeps two, so it's just for couples or one person. It has a 4 Star rating, which is good. Everything's included.

It's a converted farm building, so it's got some old beams and things. That means the ceilings are a bit low in places if you're tall. The layout is open plan. There's a wood burning stove. The bathroom is en-suite to the bedroom.

You get a private patio area with a garden view. The view looks straight across fields to Blencathra and the Mell Fells. It's quiet. The owners have about an acre and a half of land, and they keep some free-range chickens that might wander past.

In the village, about a mile away, there's a shop and a pub. The pub is old, 17th century I think, and does food. Greystoke Castle is there too, you can visit it. In summer, there's a heated outdoor swimming pool in the village with a cafe.

For getting out, you're well placed. Ullswater is about 20 minutes' drive. Keswick is about the same. You're right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. There's local walking and cycling from the door. For fishing, golf, or horse riding, you'd need to ask locally for the closest places.

Facilities: there's parking right outside. It has WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's storage for bikes. It's set up for a Christmas stay if you wanted. No pets allowed.
