Curlew Cottage is in Stainton, which is a small village over towards Penrith. It's semi-detached and the owners live next door, which is useful if you need anything. The layout is upside down, so you've got the two bedrooms and the bathroom downstairs. The kitchen and living room are upstairs. That's where the views are.
It sleeps three in two bedrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, comfortable, and well kept. The entrance and the ground floor are wheelchair accessible, but it's worth noting the living space is up a flight of stairs.
You've got a small patio area to sit out on. There's on-site parking. It has WiFi and a TV. Bedding and towels are included.
The location is good for getting to different places without being right in the middle of it all. Ullswater is about a ten minute drive. Keswick is about twenty minutes. You're near the northern lakes and also not far from the Eden Valley. For a big day out, Hadrian's Wall is within a half hour drive.
There's a pub and a shop about a mile away. For more choice, Penrith is close. The cottage is in the Lake District National Park, so walking and cycling routes start practically from the door. There's a local golf course if that's your thing. They also have a games room on the property, which has a pool table and some other things, shared with a couple of the other cottages.
No pets, I'm afraid.
