This flat is called On The Beach. It’s on the first floor of a building right on Ventnor seafront. You look out the window and the sea is right there, literally across the road.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star place. That means it’s comfortable and clean, not high-end. You’re really paying for the position.
The flat is above the esplanade, so you get the sound of the sea. There are a few cafes and seafood places right outside, and the marina is a five-minute walk along the front.
The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles. If you like walking, you can follow the coast path from your doorstep. One good walk is west to Steephill Cove. It’s a bit of a climb in places but very pretty.
Ventnor itself has the Botanical Gardens. They’re up on the hill behind the town. It’s a peaceful spot if you want a break from the beach.
Within about half an hour’s drive, you’ve got a few things. Carisbrooke Castle is near Newport. Osborne House is at East Cowes. Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill are the big family parks if you’ve got kids.
For the beach day with the coloured cliffs and chairlift, you’d head to The Needles at Alum Bay. That’s the other end of the island, maybe 40 minutes by car.
In terms of what’s here, you’ve got a TV, WiFi, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are provided. No pets allowed.
