Solway Escape is a lodge on a park just outside Plumbland. It's about a ten-minute drive into Cockermouth. The lodge is detached, so you've got no neighbours through the walls.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower, and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The main living area is open plan. French doors open out onto a private, enclosed deck.
The park is quiet and family-friendly. It's a good base if you want to explore this side of the Lakes without being in the busiest bits. Cockermouth has a few supermarkets, some decent pubs, and independent shops. Wordsworth's childhood home is there, run by the National Trust.
You're about half an hour's drive from Keswick and the northern lakes. Bassenthwaite Lake is the closest, maybe a 20-minute drive. For a good beach day, the Solway Coast is about 25 minutes away. The Lake District National Park site has walking routes and information.
Facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, a Smart TV, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog.
