Daffodil Cottage is a terraced cottage in the middle of Cockermouth. You're about a five minute walk from the main street. It sleeps five across three bedrooms.
The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and clean. The stairs are a bit steep, it's that sort of cottage. There's one bathroom, but it has a bath and a separate shower. It was redone recently.
There's a wood burner in the living room. We leave some logs to get you started. The kitchen has a dishwasher, and the garden out the back is fully enclosed. It's not huge, but it's private. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
Cockermouth's a good little town. There are proper shops and a few pubs that do food. You can walk to everything. Wordsworth's birthplace is here if you're interested.
For getting out into the Lakes, you're in a handy spot. Keswick is about a twenty minute drive. Buttermere and Crummock Water are maybe twenty five minutes. You can drive to Whinlatter Forest for some walking or mountain biking. The coast at places like Allonby is about half an hour away.
For planning, the National Park site is useful: Lake District National Park. The National Trust also looks after a lot of the local land: National Trust Lake District.
