Bears Lodge is at Meadows Retreat, just off the A66 near Cockermouth. It's a detached lodge.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. One bedroom has a kingsize bed and its own ensuite. The other has twins. There's an open plan living area with a kitchen and dining space, and French doors that open onto the decking. The deck wraps around the side a bit. The garden is enclosed, so it's secure for a dog or kids.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. Everything's included: bedding, towels, the electricity. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can park right outside.
You can bring one dog. Please keep it off the furniture.
Location wise, you're on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Cockermouth is about ten minutes' drive. It's a nice town, has a few shops and pubs. The coast at Allonby or St Bees is maybe twenty minutes the other way.
For a day out, Keswick is roughly twenty minutes' drive. You can get a boat on Derwentwater from there. Or head into the proper mountains, places like Buttermere. It's all within half an hour.
If you're planning walks or trips, these sites are useful: Lake District National Park and National Trust Lake District.
