Samphire

The place is called Samphire. It's in Cromer. It's a ground-floor apartment in a Victorian house.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which I think is fair. Everything works and it's kept clean.

The main thing about it is the location. It's quiet, but you can walk to everything in five minutes. The beach, the shops, the pubs. You don't need the car once you're here.

It's light inside. There's a big bay window and an old fireplace in the living room. The kitchen doors open out to a small, walled garden. It gets the sun in the afternoon. There's a table and chairs out there, and a barbecue.

The stairs in the building are shared, but the apartment itself is all on one level, which is handy.

Cromer's a proper seaside town. The pier and the theatre are there. The beach is good. You can get fresh crab from the huts. There's a golf course on the cliffs.

Sheringham is the next town along. They've got the North Norfolk Steam Railway there, which is fun. Sheringham Park is nice for a walk. For boat trips to see the seals, you'd drive to Blakeney or Morston, which is about half an hour away.

Norwich is about forty minutes by car or train if you want a city day. The castle and the shops are good.

In terms of what's there: it has parking for one car, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.

For planning, the National Trust Norfolk Coast site is useful.
