Kilbride is in Lamlash on Arran. It’s a detached bungalow up on the hill, so you get the view over the bay to the Holy Isle. Everything’s on one level, which is good if stairs are a problem for anyone.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There’s a king-size with its own shower room, and two twins. There’s a family bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. It’s got a 4 Star rating. They call it ‘luxury’, which means it’s nicer finishes and that, but it’s still a family house.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining, living area. There’s a wood burner and patio doors out to the terrace. There’s a summer house out there too, which is handy if someone wants a bit of quiet. The utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Lamlash is the biggest village on the island. There’s a pub, cafes, a shop, that sort of thing. The bay is good for kayaking or a stroll. You can get boat trips over to the Holy Isle from the pier. It’s a Buddhist retreat, but you can walk up to the top for the view.
If you want to explore, Brodick Castle is about a fifteen minute drive. It’s National Trust, good for a wander. For a proper walk, Goatfell is the big one. The path starts near Brodick. Allow most of a day for that.

Facilities: there’s parking, WiFi, a TV, a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, I’m afraid.
