This is Seagrass. It's in Lamlash on the Isle of Arran, which is off the Ayrshire coast in South West Scotland.
It’s a detached house we renovated a few years ago. Sleeps six. There are three bedrooms: two doubles and one room with triple bunks. Two bathrooms, one of them is an en-suite. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means it’s well equipped and comfortable.
The house is all on one level, so there are no stairs inside, which is handy. The front door is wheelchair accessible, and there’s a wet room as well. Heating is via an air source heat pump, so there’s always plenty of hot water.
You’ve got a lawn at the front that’s enclosed. Out the back there’s a patio with furniture and a summer house with a fire-pit inside. It’s a decent spot to sit, even if the weather turns.
Lamlash itself is quiet. The local pub is a short walk away, and they do food. The beach is about a quarter of a mile.
If you want to explore, Whiting Bay and Kildonan beach are a short drive. Kildonan is often said to be the best beach on the island. You can see seals on the rocks there. The whole island is good for walking and wildlife. You might see otters or porpoises if you’re lucky.
Facilities wise: it has a wood burner, WiFi, Smart TV, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking on site. We leave a cot, highchair, some toys and beach things like buckets and spades. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Bedding and towels are included.
