St Brides is our place in Lamlash. It's a detached Victorian house right on the front, so the views are straight out over Lamlash Bay to Holy Isle.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a big, solid house, not a tiny cottage. The original features are still there, like the fireplaces.
The main living room has big windows so you can see the water. There's a separate smaller snug with a TV and an old Wii, which is handy if kids want their own space. The dining table is large enough for everyone.
Two of the double bedrooms look right out at Holy Isle. You wake up to that view.
Outside, there's a decent sized front garden that goes right down to the shore. You can hear the water.
Lamlash village is a short walk away. There's a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, a play park, and the beach. You don't need the car for basics.
For a day out, you can get the ferry over to Holy Isle from the pier. Brodick is about a ten minute drive for the castle and the country park. The whole island is good for walking. The golf course is just outside the village.
Facilities wise: it's got pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, a woodburning stove for the cooler evenings, bedding and towels included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking for two cars on the drive. No pets, sorry.
